Elizabeth Jane Hurley, an English model and actress, who gained notoriety in the 90s as Hugh Grant's lover and the former English model. In the 1990s, when Grant was at the centre of media attention due to his worldwide film's box office success, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied Grant in the black plunged Versace gown that was held in place by silver safety pins. The actress gained immediate media exposure. Her most memorable professional experience has been her involvement with the cosmetics company Estee Lauder. Hurley received the first model contract she was offered at age of 29, and has used her model for Estee Lauder's products since the year 1995. Vanessa Kensington is her best famous role, which she played in her roles in the Mike Myers spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me Both of which were huge hits. Perry's first attempts at mainstream stardom were fruitless with two separate record labels signing and subsequently dropping her before the release of any music. Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The title song was a fun and playful track that received little attention. I kissed a Girl, a confident tribute to her fascination with sexuality with a hard-edged electronic pop beat, was a big impact a few months later. I Kissed a Girls was an immediate hit, however the song quickly caused controversy. Many critics argued that the track promoted same-sex sexual relations and others felt that the story which was depicted on the album appealed more to male fantasies. I Kissed a Girl became an international number-one single because of its mix of excitement and an elegant melody. It also helped her sell more albums, including One of the Boys. The album's song, the second Hot N Cold also proving to be a hit, the album the songs Perry wrote herself eventually registered sales of more than three million copies within the United States.
